Ford introduces the F-Series "Bonus-Built" line - the first lineup of pickup trucks built on a dedicated truck platform. The F-1 model becomes the direct predecessor of today's F-150.

F-150 introduced

The F-150 debuts as a model positioned between the F-100 and F-250, offering higher payload and meeting new American exhaust emission standards. This is where the name "F-150" is born.
